ACROBATAS

This sculpture is a search for ways to present pictorial works in unconventional forms and to invite the public to become active participants in the piece. By being displayed at different angles, the paintings prompt viewers to adjust their posture in order to observe them. This sculpture, in its constant evolutions, is continually inspired by ants. In a certain way, the ‘acrobats’ act as creatures that carry artworks as if they were leaves. They transport them between galleries and exhibition spaces.

My work in general deals with themes related to the abstraction of reality in its multiple dimensions. How can one represent Rⁿ in R²? That challenge becomes even more complex when human emotions—both my own and those of the audience—are involved. These sculptures aim to detach the canvases from the walls and present them from new perspectives. The sculptures react to those who observe them, modifying their positions.
